This is exactly the reason I didn't want to move back in with my parents. Not that I don't love my parents, I do it's just. . . I don't know. It's just like high school all over again I guess. The only difference is I'm not ok with it this time. Back in high school I was ok with the loneliness, never getting texts from friends, not going out, etc. Mainly because I didn't have friends to text and go out with but now, after three years of having close friends to go out and have fun with it's really starting to get to me. I know I've only been home for a month but it seems like everything's just falling apart. Like all that hard work I put into being more social and outgoing for the last few years has all just gone to hell. I don't go out, I barely talk to anyone, seriously it seems like the only messages I get on my phone are Candy Crush notifications and the occasional text from my mother telling me to do the dishes. I go to school and then I come home and spend the rest of the day on my computer or reading. I'm reverting back to the awkward, loser I was in high school and I'm not handling it very well. And starting at this new University isn't really helping things. This school is huge, very impersonal and extremely daunting. I don't know what I'm doing or how to cope with everything that's going on and I don't really know who to talk to about it.
I know I'm just being overly dramatic but I had to write it down somewhere and nobody reads this blog anyways. I guess I'm just feeling a little depressed and spending an hour locked in my room crying and spilling my feeling in a blog post usually helps a little. It doesn't fix anything but it's enough to hold me over until the next depressing thing happens. You'll probably be hearing from me again in a few weeks when I do my annual blog post where I complain about how much I hate homecoming week.
Well my life is pretty boring but I do have my moments and I want to write them down so I can go back and laugh at them later.

Things I just don't understand
Ok so there's a lot of stuff that I don't understand and it would take forever to go over it all. So I'm not gonna do that. I just wanted to talk about a few things, like emoticons.
I honestly don't understand them. I get that it's fun to put little faces at the end of messages but when that little smiley face is the only thing you send as a response I get confused. It's like you're having a conversation right?
Random person that's going to become very annoying soon- "I'm not going to make it today."
Me- "Maybe another day."
Random person that just became very annoying- " :) "
Me- " . . . "
That's usually my response. I'll spend maybe five minutes looking at that smiley face thinking "What the heck am I supposed to do with that?" Do I smiley face them back? Do I start a new topic? Is the conversation over? I don't know. It annoys me to no end. I don't send you confusing little faces as a response to your texts so I would appreciate it if you didn't do it to me. Now if they put it in with some words then I can forgive them. Example:
Me- "Being an introvert is like being Robert Downey Jr. in your head and Castiel in real life."
Best friend- "Ba ha ha! Love it :D"
Me- "Thought you would"
Example #2:
Me- "What are you up to today?"
Best friend- "Just got back from a day out with Thomas :)"
Me- "Who is Thomas?"
Best friend-" Thomas the Train. the event is 'day out with Thomas' :)"
Me- "Is it sad that Thomas the Train was my first thought but I figured I'd give you the benefit of the doubt. Are you with your nephew?"
See? Those are much better uses of the smiley face because while it still has the cutesy smileyness of the emoticon it also gives me something to work with.
Another thing I don't understand is why my mother insists on calling me when she could just text. Example:
Me, being a good daughter and offering to cook dinner-" What do you want for dinner?"
*Phone rings* Mom- "I have to work late tonight so you guys can have whatever you want."
Me-" I can bring you something" (and the conversation continues)
Why can't she just text? I mean she knows how much I despise talking on the phone. Yet she insists on calling me.
There are other things that confuse me but those were two things that have been on my mind this afternoon.
Yes those are actual conversations. I know I'm kinda strange. . . . . .
Ok! More than just kinda, I'm a complete weirdo. The sad part is those are "Normal" conversations.

No haters allowed
I've got to say there is one group of people I dislike most out of everybody. This group of people isn't from any specific race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation. The type of people I have the biggest problem with is Haters. I can't say how much it annoys me when someone openly bashes something that someone else is passionate about be it religion, a certain book or movie, hobbies, or whatever. I refuse to read comments on social media sites because I just know that someone is going to put someone else down and it bugs me to no end. The worst though is when people intentionally go on sites or watch You Tube videos just to hate. I mean really if you don't like it don't watch the freaking video, it's highly unlikely that someone is holding a gun to your head and making you watch it. I've never been a big sports fan but you don't see me going to websites dedicated to football and leaving hateful comments. Why would I want to waste my time like that when I could be on a website about BBC's Merlin or pictures of fuzzy little critters and babies?
Now I know someone might call me out for this and say I'm being hypocritical because I'm hating on these people. And its true I'm being a Hater right now but I would like to point out that I'm not trying to put someone down for having a different taste in music, movies, reading material, etc. Everyone is different and just because someone likes something you don't doesn't give you the right to be mean. If you really have to say something just say "its not really my thing" or something along those lines you don't have to give specific details about why you don't like it.
Sorry for the less than fun post but I've been thinking
a lot about this and I had to say something.
a lot about this and I had to say something.

Can somebody really be that stupid?
So last week our heater broke and we had our roommate's dad look at it because we thought the pilot light was just out. Well he looked at it and it was lighting but the gas wasn't staying on (his words, I'm not sure exactly how heaters work so I won't pretend I know what I'm talking about.) And so it was only blowing cold air. Now common sense, or life experience, or whatever you want to call it tells us that when you're moving cool air around it's going to get cooler. Take fans for example during the summer we turn them on to get the air moving so that we can cool off because when the air is still it gets warmer. Well we took that knowledge when our heater broke and put it to good use. The first thing we did was turn the heater off. If it's not on it wont blow cold air and it wont get colder. That's logic. We told our two roommates that weren't there when we found out the heater was broke so they would't turn the heat up. Did they listen? NO.
They have a problem with being cold and for some reason "cold" is any temperature under 85F. All winter long it has been a constant battle over the thermostat because the rest of us don't believe the temperature needs to go above 70F. Plus when our gas bill doubles in one month it's kinda annoying. We're poor college students we can't afford to pay two hundred a month on gas because two of our roommates don't wear enough clothes and have to turn the heat up to the surface of the sun. I mean honestly there are things called blankets that normal people use to keep warm. Also there's this novel idea called "wearing clothes that cover more than 20% of your body" you know pants (not leggings), shirts with sleeves, maybe a jacket, it is winter after all.
It got so bad some nights that my room roommate and I were sleeping in shorts and tank tops with the window open in the middle of February in Utah. The outside temperature was somewhere in the negatives and we had the window open because it was that freakin hot. We had a joke about it "We just have to survive a few more months and then we'll be rid of them. . . If they don't cook us first." Even guests that came over commented on how unbearably hot it was in our apartment.
So yeah the heater's broken and our landlord is getting a guy to come look at it so we've been just kinda toughing it out for a few days. Wearing sweaters and stuff, what else can you do? Well our roommates are either really stupid and think that even if the heater is broken we can still turn it up to 80F and it will make it warmer. WRONG!!! IT'S JUST MAKING IT COLDER! Or they think we're lying to them for some stupid reason. Yeah because we like freezing our butts off just to make you uncomfortable. I mean really people we would not make ourselves uncomfortable for this long just to be mean to someone else. First of all we're not that vindictive, and secondly we're not idiots. We may not like them but come on. The farthest we've went was not letting them in when they lock themselves out after a night of partying. They need to learn to take their freaking house keys and not knock on the door and ring the door bell at one in the morning. It's disrespectful to us and our neighbors who have two young children. If they would ring the door bell once or twice when they get locked out we would gladly let them in but the annoying constant ring ring ring ring ring knock knock knock knock knock that they do doesn't make us want to help them out. It just pisses us off. Especially when they do it twenty minutes before our one roommate gets home from work (we almost never hear her come in because she's considerate of the other people living in the immediate area) and if they'd wait just a little while she would let them in. They know her schedule she works the same hours at least four or five days a week sometimes more and her work schedule is printed out and stuck to our door.

Abandoned
So when my best friend and roommate "Boss" told me she was going up north for a long weekend because of some writers conference I didn't think much of it. And when it turned out that this conference was on valentines day I still didn't think much about it. But now I'm sitting home alone (Well not technically alone two of my roommates are downstairs in the living room) and I'm going crazy. I wasn't expecting to have a lovely valentines day I mean really when you haven't been on a date in over a year you don't really have high expectations for valentines day, but normally I get to spend it with my other friends who are single as well and we watch sappy love stories and complain about the male population in our small town. Not this year apparently. "Boss" has a hot date (Her cute two year old nephew, if his parents decided to go out), "That" is with her boyfriend, "Other" is on her mission in Korea, and I'm hold up in my room avoiding my roommates (Not because I don't like them, I just don't really like talking to them when "Boss" isn't around)
Ok so maybe I'm hiding from the two newer roommates. But I don't particularly like people I don't know and I will avoid them at all costs i.e. not eating because one or both of them are in the kitchen. I know it sounds a little childish but what can you do? I won't even go down and turn down the thermostat (which I turned down this morning after almost dying from heat stroke last night because someone turned it up to eighty. Again) It's probably close to freezing outside and I have the window open and I'm wearing a tank top and shorts so I don't sweat to death. It's ridiculous. I'm an introvert, and I never really understood the joke "Q: How do you kill an introvert? A: Place a stranger in their kitchen and they'll eventually starve to death." until now. It's not a joke its a fact. "Boss" even hired one of our friends to make sure I ate at least two meals a day while she was gone. I have to say I've done fairly good today on that front I had some left over BBQ pork for breakfast and a chicken sandwich for dinner.
Sitting in my room alone, refusing to leave the comfort of familiar surroundings and all together completely ignoring my roommates. That is how I'm spending my valentines day. A little pathetic, I know.

Tales from the asylum
I'm going to snap one of these days. I can already see the headline "College student bludgeon's her roommates to death with a dish scrubber." I honestly wouldn't put it past me at this point. They do not know how to wash their FREAKING DISHES. I swear they think the dishes just magically do themselves. Just like the garbage magically takes itself out, and the food they leave on the counter just grows legs and walks to the garbage can and throws itself away.
See in the beginning I didn't really care so much because I knew that I really had no room to talk. I'm not the neatest person in the world. But seriously this is freakin ridiculous. I am not their maid nor am I their mother. They are adults they should know how to pick up after themselves.
I know it probably sounds like I'm over reacting but if you lived with them you would understand why I have a long list of grievances that I feel totally justifies their murders. I don't think there's a jury out there that wouldn't rule in my favor.
1. The dirty dishes left in rooms other than the kitchen.
2. The food left on the counter for days at a time (Well it would be left there if I didn't throw it away after a few hours. I know this because its not uncommon for them to leave food out over night.)
3. The food left in the sink.
4. They don't do their dishes.
5. They don't clean out the fridge. (An entire gallon of milk expired)
6. They don't know how to put DVDs back in their cases.
7. They don't know how to close cupboard doors. (That's my own personal pet peeve)
8. They don't know how to close Drawers.
9. They don't know how to park.
10. They don't know how to load or unload the dishwasher.(I can do all the dishes and ask one of them to simply put the dishes away when they are clean but that's apparently too hard. On the rare occasions that they do load the dishwasher they do it wrong and half the dishes don't get clean so I have to wash them again.)
11. It doesn't matter how many times I ask them to help out they simply ignore me.
12. They rarely take the garbage out.
13. When they do take the garbage out they don't put a bag back in.
14. They don't take the can out to the curb on garbage day.
15. They don't turn the TV off.
16. They turn the thermostat up past 75 when it clearly doesn't need to go above 70.
17. Some (not all) of them help themselves to everything in the apartment without asking.
18. They "clean" and then you can't find anything. i.e. scissors, markers, the garage door opener, etc.
19. They come in the kitchen when I'm trying to cook. (So that one's not really a capital offence but I can't stand it when people are in the kitchen just standing there while I'm cooking. They're always in the way and I don't feel safe in a kitchen with lots of people wielding knifes and such)
20. My movies used to be in order. (That's just me being OCD but my other roommate has the same issue with her movies. Nobody knows the alphabet apparently so the movies don't get put in the right place.)
21. They knock over a vase with flowers and put the flowers back in the vase but don't bother to clean up the water so everything on the table gets soaked and there's a nice puddle on the floor. It's no fun stepping in a cold puddle of water with just socks on. (This has happened more than once. I'll admit the flowers were a little top heavy and they weren't in the right kind of vase at all so they were prone to tip over but still don't pick up the flowers and leave the water all over.)
22. They stop the microwave before it's done and then don't clear out the remaining time.
23. If the garbage can is full (and I mean overflowing) and they don't feel like taking it out they put a box next to the can and start putting garbage in it until it's overflowing.
I could continue but I think I've expressed my distaste for my current living conditions as much as I needed to. I had to say something and the only way to get it off my chest without mentally scaring my fellow inmates at this insane asylum was to write about it. So thanks for listening internet your'e a fantastic friend.
