finals week

OK so I haven't posted for a while I've just been busy. my roommates and I decided to do the national novel writing month so any writing I did this past month was on a novel that will never see the light of day (and I'm OK with that because my story was just for me). This month has been an interesting one let me tell you.
We'll start off with the pantless boy. So my step dad was in Seattle for work and my mom decided while he was gone she would come hang out with us. We were having fun talking with her and doing girl stuff when someone knocked on our door. It was our friend from apartment 29 (we also nicknamed him 29 at the beginning of the semester so that's what were gonna call him in this post) He was doing his laundry and forgot to bring detergent with him and since we live across from the laundry room he figured he would come see if we would give him some soap. The funny part is he wasn't wearing pants. He had a lava lava on (if you don't know what that is it's a skirt-like thing islanders wear) but you could easily see his underwear when he moved. That night turned out more interesting than my mother was prepared for. She never expected to have a pantless boy come and hangout in our apartment.
Other adventures with 29 have happened since then as well. He usually comes over and hangs out occasionally playing dress up. He tried on a pair of my roommates shoes and a hat and made a Beard out of paper. He even posed for pictures.
Other interesting things have happened as well.
So we live in a highly LDS populated community and we go to a school that at one time was a church owned school so we have certain rules in our apartment about not having members of the opposite sex in the apartment after midnight and we really can't let them sleep over. We're usually good about following those rules but the other night there was a dance and a roommates "Friend" (they're sorta in the starting to date phase of the relationship) came down to go to the dance with her. He had to drive two hours and he decided after he got here that he didn't want to make the drive twice in one day so we talked to some guy friends about him crashing on their couch and they were cool with it. Well after the dance we couldn't get a hold of the guys and it was two in the morning so we decide to just let him crash on our couch.
It had to be one of the most rebellious things we had ever done. (I know we're real wild ones aren't we) He stayed for two nights and we had a blast. He gave us a lot of insight on the male gender and we answered some of his questions about women. Now bear in mind that four of us have never had a boyfriend, never actually kissed a boy (unless you count second grade) and two of us have never gotten past the first date so having a man (unrelated to us) in our apartment using our shower and walking around in his pajamas was kinda uncharted territory for some of us. (At least he was wearing pants)
And finally finishing up "front row weirdy" went two weeks ignoring me and today, the last day of class, (we have our final tomorrow morning) he decides to talk to me again and he smelled nice and he was sitting quite close and I got a nice glimpse of his biceps, and I'll probably never have a class with him again. I had almost given up on the whole thing and then he goes and notices I exist again. Will I ever understand men?

UGH

I hate homecoming week.

I hate the homecoming dance and the football game and the posters it's all just a bunch of crap.
So "front row weirdy" didn't talk to me the next day in class or the day after and it crushed me. I asked the guy friend I mentioned and you know what his response was? "He probably likes you and is just being inconsistent classic guy" so I asked why men have to be so confusing and how I can make them not be confusing or make it so I'm not confused and this was his response. "Guys are confusing because were dumb that's why. Were simplistic, we don't always think before we do things and the way to get them to stop being confusing is to just ask them straight out what they want" It didn't help.

So tonight I'm sitting home with one of my other roommates and watching chick flicks because we don't have dates to the dance. See I didn't hate dances so much in high school because I was anti social and didn't have friends. Half the time I didn't even know there was a dance and I knew the reason guys didn't ask me was because I didn't talk to them, they didn't know me (and I was told that I was intimidating though I don't know how. If you ask my friends now if I'm intimidating they would laugh at you). It's totally different now because I do have friends who get asked to the dances and I help them get ready and listen to them when they talk about the amazing guys they went out with. Also I do talk to guys and they still don't ask me to dances or out on dates really. Not to mention I have been extremely emotional today and the stupidest little things make me cry.

OK, I just had to rant and the Internet seems like the best place to do it.

Crushes and forks

Today was AWESOME.

I have been a little confused with men lately (particularly the weirdy who sits next to me on the front row in my math class). One day he'll talk to me and then the next day nothing. I considered talking to a guy friend and asking for his superior knowledge of the male gender. Then I thought I might try striking up a conversation with "front row weirdy" (he has started all conversations before and a roommate pointed out that maybe he was waiting for me to start one).
So waiting for class to start I chickened out and he didn't speak to me. I'll admit I was bummed and I went through the entire class kinda moping and when class ended I got up and left as usual. I was surprised when he was walking behind me (he usually takes longer to leave class because he likes to talk to the teacher about things he doesn't understand) this is the second time this has happened the entire semester. The first time I was walking next to my friend and I didn't know if I should look back and say hi to "front row weirdy" and then he was gone and yeah. Today I didn't have my friend with me and when I noticed "front row weirdy" I somehow got up the courage to say hey. He walked me home and we talked about the last math test and our roommates and stuff.
I still don't understand men but I figured I'd wait till tomorrow and see what happens in math class. I'm worried that nothing will happen but I have a back up plan. I can still ask my guy friend for his help with understanding the inner workings of the male brain.

And on to the forks. The guy friend with the superior male knowledge (on anything male that is) hit me with a fork because I criticized his acting. We have a love hate relationship.

Just thought I'd share.

20

Birthday was a success.

So my birthday started off with an awesome dream and it seemed to go good all day long. My friend tried to rat me out in math class by telling the teacher that it was my birthday. Luckily no one decided they needed to sing to me. Then the other weirdy (the guy that sits next to me in math on the front row, who I kinda have a little crush on) he smelled like the guy in my dream (good man smell with a hint of mint from the gum he was chewing).
I also got to do a presentation on the cadavers in my anatomy class. But the best part was telling my mom about it later (she's squeamish and almost hurled and I didn't even go into detail).
The one downer was the math test I might have bombed it, Oh well its not like I'm failing the class I can afford one bad test score.

half way to forty wow, I feel old hehehe.

Blind date Yay!

OK so this one wasn't as bad as the others It might take her a few try's but eventually she gets it right. He was way nice and he seemed OK with my craziness. I really wouldn't mind a second date. My roommates say he seemed interested but I'm not sure, then again I'm not good at judging other peoples feelings especially guys.

I'm happy with our roommate date night all the guys were so sweet and all the girls were beautiful. I love my roommates and I'm glad they talked me into doing this.

Blind dates yay or nay?

OK so my roommates and I are doing a date night this Friday. We're gonna make pizza and go to the school play and maybe go to the dance for an hour after it depends on how were all feeling after the play.

I'm a little concerned because I have never met my date. He's a friend of a friend (this particular friend has set me up on 3 blind dates in the past year) So I'm a little nervous. She tells me he's nice and very talkative so that helps because I'm socially awkward and unless I know someone not very open.

I already knew that this date was going to be a little awkward because I was going to let my roommate set me up. See I have never asked a boy out on a date they have always asked me or we have been set up. Not that a girl can't ask a guy out that's perfectly fine I just don't ask guys out. Maybe if I did I would have more dates but really just the thought of asking a boy out on a date makes my hands all sweaty, my heart starts pounding and I tend to break out (not bad just one or two zits but they're usually huge). So I was totally cool with handing over the reigns to my friend and letting her set me up but now that its a done deal I'm starting to panic (I have a huge zit on my chin and I'm worried about him not liking me or me not liking him)

What are your thoughts on blind dates?

Tired and pissed off

I hate people! I really do they are obnoxious, loud, inconsiderate jerks that don't understand that some of us have early morning classes and would like to go to sleep.

First we have the girls that live upstairs (the boys that lived in that apartment last year weren't as bad as they are even when we were sure they were killing each other up there) for some reason they like to stomp around their apartment, and move the kitchen chairs and I don't mean the normal every day movement more like back and forth back and forth for twenty minutes straight. I don't know what they're doing. Then there's the loud bang that happens every so often like someones just dropped a ten pound bowling ball on the floor. (they like to do that when your half asleep)

Then we have the people who stand outside your window and talk loudly. For some reason they cant talk in their apartment or maybe away from the apartment building. No that would be to considerate to the neighbors.

And of course after you get the others to shut up you get the guys coming by to throw rocks at the window above yours then all the girls in that room laugh hysterically.

It wouldn't bother me so much if it was the weekend or if it was a Wednesday night because I don't have get up early the next morning. I guess the thing that annoyed me the most was that they should all know that quiet hours are between 10pm and 6am (it says so in the contract that they all signed. I know, I read it and signed it too) I try not to get to mad about it because I know that we can be pretty loud sometimes but we usually try to quiet down after ten.

I don't like being mean and yelling at people but when I'm trying to sleep and they wont shut up... I think I'm too nice because I feel bad about yelling at them.

Sleep deprivation that's what it is. People get cranky when they don't get enough sleep or when they cant sleep because of annoying people.

RANT

I needed to vent and my roommates just weren't cutting it today so I figured I'd post it.

This is my RANT
Rational
Argument
Not
Tantrum

I'm a weirdo and I like to sit on the front row in class most of the time. So in my math class I usually sit by my friend in the front row (apparently he's a weirdo too) and after the first week I noticed that there was this nice guy that would always sit on my other side (I'm gonna assume he's a weirdo too) and sometimes we would talk about the math assignment or something. So you know I've kinda gotten used to him sitting next to me, I even look forward to going to math just for that reason.

Well today I walked into class and there was a girl sitting in his spot. I was hoping she was just from the last class and she would be leaving (one of the down falls of sitting in the front row you don't see the other people in the class). I was disappointed but I reminded myself that we don't have assigned seats in the class and she can sit wherever she wants. That is until she opined her mouth. This girl was obnoxiously loud and would not shut up. We got our tests from last week back and she was going on and on about getting a hundred percent which is cool that's great she got a good grade but she didn't need to announce it to the entire class you know be a little humble. She also decided to announce other peoples grades (they seemed to be people she knew at least) So by the time the teacher started class I was about ready to strangle this girl.
I did my best to just ignore her. I'm usually a nice person and can tolerate a lot of annoying people but today I don't know. It might be sleep deprivation. People usually get cranky when they don't get enough sleep don't they? We'll go with that.

One good thing did come from the obnoxious girl though. The guy ended up sitting in the seat behind me and he still started a conversation with me before class. Maybe I'll try flirting tomorrow. I just hope she doesn't sit in his seat again because I don't think I could handle another day of that. My roommate suggested I just ask the guy to try to get to class a little earlier so I don't have to sit next to her again. I would but it might come across as something else or he might think I'm a mean person and like I mentioned earlier hes nice. I cant be mean. I want him to like me.

So yeah that was my little rant for the day.

Mothers

OK I love my mom I really do but some days.......

I swear there's some rule somewhere that says that mothers have to embarrass their children. Usually I'm pretty good about it I'll just shake my head and laugh, just accept that shes my mother and she should be entitled to some embarrassing stories about me like how I peed my pants in the post office when I was younger (My grandpa took me to the post office with him and I told him that I had to go potty and he wouldn't listen he figured I could just hold it. I was two, two year olds cant hold it). Usually she likes to bring these stories up at social gatherings and everybody laughs when I blush. I just grin a bear it it will be over soon.

I always hoped it wouldn't get worse than that. Somehow it did. So back story: when I was in second grade I had a good friend who lived down the street he was about a year younger than me but we liked to play together. We would catch grasshoppers and torture them to death (I was a tomboy growing up) we made mud pies, raced bikes, played kick ball in our neighbors back yard, ate ants you know fun stuff. So one day we were just hanging out and he decided that he liked me so he kissed me well he tried, he missed because I didn't know what he was doing and turned my head away from him (he got my ear). After a couple more failed attempts he eventually got my lips (he tasted like Popsicles) and he was my "boyfriend" for a week or two. Well about nine maybe ten years later were still friends though I'm closer friends with his older sister at this point (I kinda grew out of the tomboy faze and started hanging out with girls and doing girl things). Were over at their house and my mother brings up "the kissing" and asks why we don't go on a date because quote "hes kinda cute and you did kiss him once". The entire time I was bright red and mumbling "OK you can stop now" and "I was in second grade, we don't need to talk about this" She still brings it up occasionally. I thought it couldn't get worse than that. Even when his sister and her started planning our wedding over face book a few months later. But it did.

Well the good news she eventually accepted that I wasn't going to marry him. We have become close friends with his family and hes more like a cousin now and that would just be weird.

As I got older I thought those episodes were a thing of the past I mean how can she embarrass me when I don't even live with her anymore and the only time I see her is on the holidays or the occasional weekend. Some how she manages just fine. So a little more back story I'm 19 our neighbors have a 17 year old son and she is now convinced that I have to marry the boy next door literally. This started about two years ago, she kept telling me "you should marry him hes cute and his mother loves you and his dad is our bishop" (we are LDS) my response was always "yeah he is nice and hes not bad looking if only he had a drivers license...darn I guess I can't marry him". Well he has a drivers license now and a car and she has recently decided that she needs grandbabies within the next five years. It was fine when it was just us. She would teas me about it at dinner or when we did family scripture study and my step dad would just shake his head and sympathize with me. Recently it has gotten worse she has gotten his mother in on it now. We were over at their house a few weeks ago just chatting and my mother brought it up that I should marry him and his mother thought about it for a while than decided it was a fantastic idea and we could buy the house on the other side of them when the lady living there died (shes about 80 years old so...). I did my best to make her stop talking I pointed out that he was barely even 17 and I was going to be 20 in a few months but that didn't seem to faze either of them. I told them they would have to wait till after he went on his mission and it would be like four years before we could get married and they still wouldn't listen. Even his younger siblings agreed with me and I'm sure his older sister would have too if she had been present (luckily he was not there). Now there is nothing wrong with this boy he would be a great husband and his parent would be wonderful in laws but the fact that he is only 17 is kinda a turn off and he may be a little to into sports for my liking. The sad thing is it gets worse. So my mother was put into young women's at the beginning of the summer and they meet once a week and do fun stuff and sometimes they do combined activities with the young men (and he is still in young men's) well tonight they made cakes for their activity and decorated them then they invited the boys to have cake with them and it was all good fun. They even invited me to come with them but I didn't (I should have). His mother was there my mother was there and so was he and I wasn't there to do damage control. Apparently they talked to him about it and hes OK with the whole thing as long as he makes more money than I do, he gets to coach our children's sports teams, and I know how to cook (that one was the deal breaker, lucky for him I can cook). So now it's decided I'm marrying the boy next door they already started planning the wedding and we're honeymooning in his family's cabin (which would actually be pretty cool they have a nice cabin). He fully agreed to it he said "yeah if shes not married before I get home from my mission sure, she makes me laugh and it doesn't matter if shes not into sports as long as she comes to our kids sporting events I'll be happy"
When my mother told me I wanted to die from embarrassment. I swear she does it just for that reason. She's trying to kill me.

Hi

So what do you write for your first post? Hmm...well...yeah.

OK OK I got something. I'll tell you a little bit about me. Doesn't that sound great? I'm a college student, normal family mom, dad, step dad, step mom, other step dad(practically my dad even though he and my mom got divorced) and other step dads wife, fiveish younger sisters, threeish younger brothers. I watch way to much TV, I can't spell to save my life, I like the color orange, what else? Oh, I think Peanut butter and Jelly is a terrible combination and alarm clocks are evil.

Yep that about sums it up right there.

So now what?

Well I'm moving out of my parents house again next week (had to move back for the summer). Can't wait to be with my roomies again they are awesome. Don't tell them I said that I have my reputation to uphold. Wouldn't want them to think I like them or anything.

Well I guess that's all I could tell you about my day in boring detail but I think I'll spare you this time.
